Getting to Xunantunich
Any of duPlooy Travel's inland packages can include a guided tour of this site, located across the Benque Viejo Road from the small Maya village of San Jose Succotz . Here a hand-cranked ferry will take you across the Mopan River. From there, it's a mile uphill to the site which can be accessed on foot, horseback or in a vehicle. Open
daily 8-4 pm.

Xunantunich can also be reached on Horseback or by Hiking from duPlooy's Jungle Lodge, which takes you along a canopied jungle trail, through lush fields and picturesque countryside.
After your tour of the site, ride or walk on over to Benny's restaurant for a lunch of local fare before mounting up for the ride home or choose a pick-up by road and get back to the Lodge early for swimming and other on-site activities.
