The dry season usually extends from February to May
with a possible dry spell in August ....
Climate
in Belize is sub-tropical, tempered
by trade winds. Average annual
rainfall in
Belize varies from an average of 50 inches in
the north
to 180 inches
in the extreme south. The climate is humid, with
relative humidity readings of 80-90 percent. |

Average Annual Rainfall
in Cayo District is about 60 inches.
February through April is the driest time of year,
while July is the wettest month.
Even during the rainiest months, rains - though often
intense - tend to be of short duration, followed
by clearing and sunshine. Long periods of cloudy weather
are unusual at any time of the year. |
| Weather
in Cayo, as you might expect, is generally warm
with relatively little variation throughout the year. May
is the hottest month with average highs in the low
90's, while
November through February are the coolest months
of the year with daytime temperatures averaging in
the
low 80's. Temperatures seldom exceed 100 degrees or
fall below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. And
because
Belize is relatively close to the equator, day length
doesn't vary much throughout the year. You can figure
on about 12 hours of light - 6 am to 6 pm - pretty
much throughout the year.
