Barton Creek Cave

Glide through a remote underground water cave system in a canoe equipped with a powerful spotlight ....

Barton Creek lies deep within lands owned by the Amish. It is believed that the Maya once used this cave for ritual ceremonies. While canoeing through the cave see large and colorful formations, skeletal remains and other cultural artifacts left behind by the Maya centuries ago.

Equipped with Canoes and high powered lights you will gently paddle into the Xibalba (she-bal-ba), Maya for underworld.

Your guide will also point out skulls and artifacts as you pass between stalactites. The high ceiling and beautiful rock flows and cathedral chambers make this a beautiful place to photograph.

For the free-spirited there is an option for swimming in the farthest chambers acessable by canoe.
